After losing her son Jonah to a traumatic birth injury in 2018, Amanda Del Balso Cantwell (a manager on the Google for Education team) established an endowment to fund the Child Life Program at Gorge Mark House to honor her son’s legacy, providing a supportive environment for families with children who have a serious medical illness.

She established the Jonah Cantwell Child Life Program at George Mark House in San Leandro, CA to honor his memory. George Mark House is a pediatric hospice and respite care center, and the Child Life program empowers families to make special memories with their children.
