Meet actor Jason MacDonald, who plays the role of Dr. Richard Carlson, co-author of the Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff series in our new Lifetime movie! You may recognize him from the popular American supernatural teen drama television series, Vampire Diaries, as well as Dynasty and All My Children.
In today’s interview with Kristine Carlson, he reveals what it’s really like breaking into the film/television industry, and how he prepared for his latest role as Dr. Richard Carlson in the Lifetime biopic.

Actor, producer and director Jason MacDonald was born in Canada and has lived in San Diego, Los Angeles, New York City and Atlanta. Most recently, Jason has played the role of Grayson Gilbert in the American supernatural teen drama television series, Vampire Diaries. A graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York, Jason spent 15 years doing theatre in and around New York City and has appeared in many other film and television roles.
